This week’s featured app is Mobilewol: No Root Firewall. While featuring an app here, I do take many factors into consideration including users’ reviews and downloads. Mobiwol is a very useful application that i would like to share it with you. I use it myself in order to reduce data usage. The app is available for free in the play store for android 4.0 and up.
It functions like a wall that stands between data and applications. To make things clearer, it blocks applications from using your data and therefore it will help you out in decreasing data usage. It also lets you check data usage for each app, it’s a very important app that you must have in your device.

Mobiwol allows you to:
- Completely control your mobile apps
- Bock/allow application connectivity
- Block apps that function and kill data in the background
- Alerts you whenever an app access the web
How to use Mobiwol on Android?
The App is so easy to use. Download and install the app, open it and switch on firewall status. The second step is to access Firewall Rules. Once you do it, you will see all the applications that were installed on your device by the manufacturer aside the ones that you have installed. As you see (Look at the screen shot) each app has two icons in front of it; the first one refers to Network, which means data and second one refers to WI-FI. In order to block an app from consuming data, you have to uncheck the data and Wi-Fi icons, or you can uncheck the data icon and keep Wi-Fi icon and vice versa. That’s it!!
